Dr. Clor’s team is not just a dental practice that has been taking care of patients from Gilroy, San Martin, Morgan Hill, and surrounding areas for years; it is a family. Each of his patients is thought of as an extension of his family and treated with compassion and genuine care.
It's important to Dr. Clor to set up good foundations for proper oral care. He likes to work together with parents, children, and even grandparents to set great examples for each other and encourage healthy smiles. It’s never too early to start setting the groundwork for good oral hygiene habits!
Regular dental examinations at least twice a year are recommended by the American Dental Association for children and adults of all ages. During your examination, Dr. Clor will check each tooth and the surrounding tissues including your gums, tongue, and cheeks. By doing this, he will inspect every tooth for cavities, assess plaque levels to determine if gum disease is present, and look for any damages, like broken teeth. Also, Dr. Clor will provide oral cancer examinations and examine your temporomandibular joint, or TMJ. This will allow him to create a personalized treatment plan for you.
To ensure that your teeth and supporting structures are healthy, Dr. Clor may take a complete set of oral X-ray images during your initial visit. This allows him to diagnose cavities, identify any pre-existing bone loss, and check for any abnormal lesions. Radiographs are not mandatory, but are highly recommended once a year and before certain dental procedures.
Dr. Clor’s plan of action will be thoroughly explained to you so a clear understanding is reached before any dental work is started. It is important to him that his patients know what the finish line looks like and what can be done to get there.
After the examination is complete, Dr. Clor or one of his dental professionals, will perform a complete dental cleaning. Professional cleanings are encouraged to prevent or slow the process of gingivitis (gum disease), dental decay, and periodontitis (bone loss).
While dental decay and periodontitis are the top causes of tooth loss, it is important to remember that proper oral hygiene must be kept up at home on a daily basis. This includes brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding certain foods and drinks that may be harmful to your teeth. During your visit Dr. Clor will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding your personal oral hygiene and how to best care for your teeth.
